Note: The Basic Course 1st Lession is 2hrs.

In Scent Work, we are teaching the dogs to Search, Find, & Alert us when they detect hidden scent, called the Hide. The dogs will Search up to a dozen "Containers" and Alert you which container has the Hide. We will also have the dogs do "Interior Search". Where they Search the room to Find and Alert you where the Hide is. "Exterior Search": Search, Find, and Alert outside. "Buried Search": Search, Find, and Alert when the Hide is buried under the ground and under water. "Search & Rescue": Search, Find, and Alert when they find a missing person. The dog and handler work together, a sense of teamwork and enthusiasm. The handler Must Encourage the dog and Show Excitement when the dog is successful. The handler must also learn to Read their dog, watching the body language, to know when their dog has found to Hide. Scent Work is not only great FUN!, it is also an AKC and UKC Event. You & your Dog, can enter AKC and UKC Scent Work Trials, to Earning Titles & Ribbons.
